New Girl Scout Cookies Coming in 2015
It's kind of funny that National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend takes place in February, just as people are giving up on their New Year's resolutions. Maybe they plan it that way? The Girl Scouts have announced that they will be introducing three new cookies to their lineup in 2015. Two of them a gluten-free, so that sort of makes them OK, right?
According to a press release from the Girl Scouts, the new cookies are:
- Toffee-tastic, buttery cookies with toffee bits (gluten-free)
- Trios, made with real peanut butter, chocolate chips, and whole grain oats (gluten-free)
- Rah-Rah Raisins, is an oatmeal raisin cookie with whole grain oats, plump, juicy raisins, and Greek yogurt–flavored chunks
Of course, old favorites like Thin Mints and Samoas will also be available in 2015, but the Girl Scouts point out that not every type of cookie they sell is available everywhere, so it is best to check with local troops to see which cookies they will be carrying.
The Girl Scouts sell about 200 million boxes of cookies each year. Net revenue from cookie sales stays with local councils, and girls decide how their troop cookie money is spent.
National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend is February 27 - March 1.
