History of the Cathedral Basilica
The original church was destroyed by a fire in 1849 and was later replaced by the breathtaking structure we see today, complete with striking green towers and elegant Gothic elements.
Inside the Mosaic Masterpiece
It’s known for its 210-foot bell towers, which feel massive when you look up from the ground. If you’re lucky enough to step inside, you’ll be just as mesmerized by the interior as you are by the exterior, especially the breathtaking ceiling made from 40 million pieces of colored glass.
I had a similar experience when I visited Trinity Church during my trip to New York. While it’s perhaps best known as the resting place of Alexander Hamilton, stepping inside gives you a glimpse of its stunning architecture. Just like the outside, the inside is equally magnificent, with details that make you stop and stare.

If you ever get the chance to visit either of these churches, I highly recommend it. Take your time, look closely, and truly appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship these incredible historic buildings have to offer.
