Missouri Prom Moms Rescuing the Dress
Prom season is full of excitement and promise. A chance for teens to dress fancy and live large if just for a night. But prom night is expensive. Sometimes too expensive. There are those who are dedicated to making prom special even if you don’t have big bucks to spend.

In Cape Girardeau, Missouri the SEMO Prom Mothers of Cape Presbyterian Church represent the Becca’s Closet nonprofit, one of three in the state, the others are in Marshall and Alton, Mo.
Becca’s Closet takes formal dress donations to make available for girls who couldn’t otherwise afford them for homecoming, winter formals and prom.
You can also make monetary donations or donate by providing things from each chapter’s wish list. Some need heavy duty hangars, others need garment bags, or racks for display purposes.
In each community that has a Becca’s Closet chapter, before each event a location will be announced to host the dress shop, with encouragement for girls to make appointments for try-ons and fittings.
If you want to help you can also volunteer with dresses and helping with the boutiques when they open to make dresses available.
Prom dreams can come true and turn into prom memories with a little help from those who have decided to donate.
