This may sound weird, but one of the most relaxing things I do is walk through cemeteries. I know it’s unusual, but it can be peaceful, beautiful, and surprisingly calming. There are some famous graves in Missouri that you can visit, and you should, if you get the chance.

Locally in Hannibal, there are several well-known individuals buried right here in America’s Hometown. Joe “Indian Joe” Douglass rests in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Arthur Forrest, a Medal of Honor recipient, is buried in Grand View Burial Park. And Thomas J. Higgins Sr., another American Civil War Medal of Honor recipient, is laid to rest in Saint Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
