Missouri Exhilarates on the Water as Things Warm Up
Loud motors and going fast aren’t just for the race track. All the things you like about car racing (minus burnt rubber) is present in boat racing. Missouri has it for you this summer.

In June in Wheatland, Missouri (???) there is a Kentucky Drag Boat Association event at Lake Lucas. Lake Lucas is part of the Lucas Oil Speedway Complex that includes an elite level dirt track and off-road course and a go-kart track too. Wheatland is far enough away from everywhere that you can get as loud as you want and if the wind is right, get sprayed during the boat races. In August the season wraps with five events at lake Lucas including three days of Nationals to close out the month.
In August the whole Show-Me state should be able to hear the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout. The Shootout has events tied to it that start in the spring and roar into June with the X-Insurance Offshore event at Bagnell Dam, and builds to the August Shootout that is in its 37th year at Osage Beach. The Shootout is thorough enough it includes a mini shootout for RC boats, a Poker run (yes on boats), a homemade cardboard event to test your Missouri engineering with minimal materials, a fun run, a treasure hunt, golf and trapshooting too.
Things go fast on the water in the Show-Me State. Find out how fast this year.
