The Missouri Farm Shop Parents Can’t Stop Talking About
As a mom, I’m always trying to make sure my family eats fresh fruits and vegetables and maintains healthy eating habits. I think most parents want the same thing for their kids. When it comes to finding fresh, quality produce, there’s one place that gets rave reviews for having the best farm shop in the Show-Me State, and it’s definitely worth adding to your must-visit list.
What You’ll Find at Thies Farm and Greenhouses
I feel pretty lucky because my kids love fruit and even some vegetables. They eat really well, and most of it comes straight from the grocery store. But when certain items are in season, I love stopping by the local farmers' market to grab some of the freshest food around. If you ever find yourself looking for year-round farm-to-table options, Love Food says you need to visit Thies Farm and Greenhouses in St. Louis.

This particular greenhouse offers more than 50 varieties of fruits and vegetables, so even picky eaters are bound to find something they’ll enjoy, even if it’s healthy. They’re also known for stocking preserves, jellies, butter, dressings, and more.
Why City Market Is Worth the Crowds
Another one of my favorite spots, especially when I’m in Kansas City, is City Market. It gets extremely busy during the spring and summer months, but it’s absolutely worth dealing with the crowds. Between the fresh flowers, fruits, and vegetables, the local restaurants nearby, and the wide variety of vendors selling things you didn’t even know you needed, it’s always a great experience.

We’re also very lucky here in the Tri-States to have farmers' markets in both Quincy and Hannibal, along with amazing local farms that grow and sell fresh produce. So even if you don’t feel like making a long drive, there are plenty of local farmers' markets and greenhouses right here worth visiting.
