Miranda Lambert is showing her support for upcoming tourmate Maren Morris and her recent photoshoot for iconic magazine Playboy. Though the shoot wasn't anything scandalous—and was actually tasteful to most people—there will still be naysayers.

The images themselves showed Morris topless but with just her back showing and her hair and hand covering her chest. The feature on Morris was for the magazine's "Gender & Sexuality"-themed June 2019 issue.

“Maren is hot, so I say good for her,” Lambert says in an interview with the Chicago Sun-Times on Morris' decision to pose for the magazine. “Hey, us women, we are doing something right. Let them keep blogging and putting us on magazine covers. We must be important enough to keep talking about.”

Morris' inspiration to do the Playboy photo shoot and interview came from none other than Dolly Parton. “I remember Dolly Parton’s amazing [October 1978] Playboy cover and reading about the drama surrounding this wholesome figure being part of a magazine that has showcased naked women for decades,” Morris says in the interview with Playboy. “So many of the moves Dolly made in her career were about bucking the status quo, especially when it came to sexuality and gender norms within country music.”

Lambert wasn't the only person praising her decision. Morris' husband Ryan Hurd even praised her portraits posting one of the shots on his Instagram with the caption, "Taken...sorry boys and girls."

Morris is far from the first country star to pose for Playboy—Parton of course did it, as well as male country artists Keith Urban, Billy Currington, and Darryl Worley posing for Playgirl. Miley Cyrus was offered to pose for Playboy but ultimately didn't accept, but she has worn Playboy-branded shirts in public.

Morris will be hitting the road this fall with Lambert on her Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars Tour across the United States with support from an entirely female rotating lineup of artists including: Pistol Annies, Elle King, Ashley McBrydeCaylee HammackMaren Morris, and Tenille Townes. Lambert recently announced that her new album will debut this fall, which would coincide with this tour.
