KC Chief to Find Home in Illinois After Getting Traded to Bears
The Kansas City Chiefs are in the midst of a golden era the likes of which few NFL teams (or few pro sports franchises at all) experience. The trick is to be able to extend it for as long as possible. Sustained excellence is always the goal.
Following the loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 59 The Chiefs are making a move on the offensive line. A weak point the Eagles exploited all game long.
Kansas City is sending All-Pro offensive lineman Joe Thuney to the Chicago Bears for a (reported) 4th round pick in the 2026 draft.
The four time Super Bowl Champion will bring experience and leadership to a young Bears team that also needs to do a better job of protecting their franchise quarterback Caleb Williams. Chicago also picked up former Lions and LA Ram Offensive lineman Jonah Jackson yesterday.
Thuney is 32 and spent his first five years in the NFL with New England. The early reports are that Thuney will sign a contract extension with Chicago. He is currently in the last year of a five year $80 million deal.

As free agency begins in the NFL, and the draft next month teams wanting to put their offseason plans into action will be making moves within the coming days.
