Kansas City, Missouri’s 10 Highest-Rated Restaurants Allegedly

I blame the fact that I am an extreme skeptic on being born and raised in Missouri. That "show me" tendency is real. I got curious about what the 10 most highly-rated restaurants in Kansas City, Missouri might be and found out it was harder to find than I thought.

This was a teachable moment for me and perhaps it will help you, too. I'm guessing that when you want to check out reviews for restaurants in Missouri or anything else, you probably go to Yelp. Am I right? Here's what I learned. When you ask Yelp to show you the top 10 restaurants in Kansas City, Missouri, it defaults to "recommended". The first results were...curious. Once I changed "recommended" to "most reviewed", the top 10 changed dramatically.

Here is what I came up with when I asked Yelp to show me the most reviewed Kansas City, Missouri restaurants. The restaurant had over 5,800 reviews and even the 10th had 1,200 reviews. That's a pretty healthy sample size (no restaurant portion pun intended) of the best places to eat out in Kansas City.
