Massive Dole Salad Recall in Missouri – Fatal Infection Risk
It's one of the most popular and common salad brands you'll find in Missouri stores and now it's under an urgent recall due to a potentially fatal infection risk.
This urgent bulletin from the Food and Drug Administration covers a multitude of Dole salad products that the press release said ended up in many Missouri stores. The statement says it was "being issued due to the potential for cross-contamination of cheese contained in certain master packs by cheese potentially contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes from our packaged cheese supplier. "
The FDA says this listeria contamination "can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems". For a person with normal health conditions, symptoms are relatively minor and might even be unnoticed.

As of this writing, there are no serious illnesses associated with this recall of Dole salad products in Missouri.
