VIDEO: Bark Scorpion Hanging Out with Snakes in Missouri Glades

Please make this stop now. Can I open my eyes yet? There's new video showing a bark scorpion hanging out with a couple of snakes in the Missouri Glades and I have all the nightmare fuel I need for the next few years.

This video appears to have been shared recently by Jim Herbert Outdoors on YouTube. Since it's a short, there's not much context as far as a description for a backstory, but it does say "Bark Scorpion Hanging Out with 2 Snakes/Herping St. Louis Missouri Rocky Glades".

The Missouri Department of Conservation describes the glades in the state as "open, rocky areas usually located amid upland woodlands". They also mention that because the glades in Missouri face the south and west they end up being very dry and almost desert-like places which explains why bark scorpions are found there.

In case you didn't know the Missouri Striped Bark Scorpion is very venomous and the sting hurts like...well, it hurts a lot. The state of Missouri has promised me that these critters are only found in these parts of the state.

That's actually a pretty big chunk of Missouri when you think about it. The map is similar for tarantulas. All I can say is be very thankful for the barrier of the Missouri River, but if it ever dries up...I'll be heading to Canada immediately.
