Have you been enjoying the rather mild weather we've had in Missouri recently? Yes? Good, because it won't last much longer as heat is about to return to the Show Me State with a vengeance.

The National Weather Service in Saint Louis, Missouri reminded me that it's not quite time for Fall weather yet. While we've enjoyed highs only in the 70's for much of the week, the heat will begin to take over again as we get close to the weekend.

The forecast for many parts of Missouri shows that the occasional thunderstorm might temporarily keep our temperatures decent through the weekend, but by Monday, August 26, you can expect highs in the mid-90's. Expect that to intensify into the middle of next week.

The good news is that the incoming heat wave will likely not last that long as September is just around the corner which means we'll eventually settle back down into the low 70's and upper 60's until the chillier weather patterns take over.

Will this be the last heat wave of the summer? Doubtful as Missouri weather seems to love tossing surprises our way. But, the summer heat finish line is at least now in sight.
