Popular Line of Pepsi Drinks Discontinued in Missouri & Illinois

The soda/pop market is changing. That's evident in news that Pepsi is discontinuing an entire line of drinks in both Missouri and Illinois.

I am an unapologetic Pepsi fan. My favorites over the years have included Pepsi (duh) and Mountain Dew. I'm partial to the all natural sugar Pepsi and regular old Mountain Dew. It's the Mountain Dew line that is being affected by a big change.

The Street is reporting that Pepsi has decided to end the Mountain Dew Kickstart energy drink line. They quote Pepsi saying this about the Mountain Dew energy drink line:

After careful consideration, we will be discontinuing MTN Dew Energy. We are incredibly grateful for your support. Fear not, Rockstar has your back for your energy needs. Find your flavor today

It's interesting that the Mountain Dew energy drink lineup is getting the boot. I've sampled some of the new more natural energy drinks that Pepsi is introducing and came away impressed. I was never really into the energy drink variation of Mountain Dew, so perhaps this is a wise move.

The Street article says that more info is buried inside of the quarterly earnings call from Pepsi, so I suppose you can dig around there if you want more backstory about why Mountain Dew energy drinks are no more.
