It's not unusual for someone in Missouri to walk into a Walmart. It is extremely unusual for someone to walk out of a Walmart much richer than when they walked in, but that's exactly what just happened as a mystery someone walked out of a Missouri Walmart one million dollars wealthier.

This is the Walmart located at 1303 S Main Street in Sikeston, Missouri. According to the Missouri Lottery website, someone picked up a Powerball ticket on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 which is now worth a cool one million dollars. The numbers on the winning ticket were 3-6-55-58-63 with a Powerball number of 12. As of right now, no one has come forward to claim this amazing prize, but it's only been a day. That being said, the Missouri Lottery lists it as an unclaimed prize on their official site.

If somehow this Missouri Lottery Powerball prize goes unclaimed for 6 months, that million dollars would go into the state education fund. Here's something that will be hard to believe, but an online tax calculator estimates that a lump sum from $1,000,000 would only be just over $530,000. I say "only" with a bit of laughter as I don't know anyone that would turn down a half million dollars, but it's remarkable that the tax man would take such a big chunk. What a wonderful problem that would be to have.
