Missouri’s Best Hole-in-the-Wall Tacos Aren’t in KC or St. Louis

I always find it refreshing when a national site gives a shout-out to food places that aren't in the metro areas of Missouri. Sometimes the tastiest food options are hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the big cities. A new declaration of the best hole-in-the-wall taco place in Missouri isn't in either St. Louis or Kansas City and that's awesome.

This is Pablito’s Taqueria in Osage Beach, Missouri which has just been named the best hole-in-the-wall taco place in the state by Cheapism. They said if you blink, you'll miss Pablito's Taqueria as it's located in a small little strip mall, but they praised their "corn tortillas cradling juicy carne asada, tender cheek meat, and smoky chorizo, topped simply with fresh cilantro, diced onions, and a squeeze of lime".

I had never heard of Pablito's Taqueria prior to the Cheapism shout-out, but it's been a long time since my family has adventured in Osage Beach. It's easy for a food place to get overlooked in this part of Missouri as there are so many restaurants to choose from. I'm a huge fan of authentic Mexican food and this place apparently delivers it big time. No offense intended toward St. Louis and Kansas City area restaurants, but everyone knows the big cities have ample food options. Very cool to see a tiny place in Osage Beach get some attention.
