Missouri may not be a lot of things, but one characteristic of the state is resilience. That's definitely true for an iconic Missouri place that recently survived a fire, but was just named one of the best roadside food stops in America.

It was almost exactly one year ago when a small root beer place in the Kansas City, Missouri area reopened after a devastating fire. Mugs Up Root Beer in Independence was back in business.

Now, Mugs Up Root Beer has a new honor to its name. Love Food just declared it one of the best roadside eateries in all of America. They were impressed by more than the root beer there. They also praised the loose meat Wiz Burger and their chili cheese tots, too.

If you have a road trip this summer that takes you through that part of Missouri, they would be more than worthy of a lunch visit.
