It's almost that time again - literally. Daylight savings time looms large on the horizon, but there's a real question about whether this will be the final time that Missouri turns back the clock.

When does Daylight Savings Time end in 2025?

Daylight savings time ends on November 2, 2025 at 2am. That's when you'll need to turn the clock back by one hour because...well, I frankly can't remember why we started doing this in the first place. There has been an effort in Missouri for years to put an end to daylight savings time, but The Hill is reporting that 2025 might (key word) be the year that Missouri finally gets it done. Missouri Senate Bill 534 proposes that the state change the clocks back on November 2, 2025 then do away with daylight savings time and make the clock adjustment the new standard all year long. But, there's a catch. My understanding is this would only go into effect if the federal government passed an amendment to do away with daylight savings time.

I've never been accused of being the smartest person in any room, but I don't understand why Missouri can't just make daylight savings time not a thing in our state anymore. Most medical sources say the time changing isn't healthy, but I recognize there's a need for other states to follow suit. As it stands, it appears that we'll change our clocks back on November 2, 2025 and likely have to repeat the same old routine next year, too.
