Illinois Taco Place Plans Explosive Growth to 100+ Locations

What has been an exclusively Illinois taco brand appears to be about to explode beyond the Land of Lincoln. New report says the 18 Illinois places are about to grow to more than 100 and expand beyond Illinois.

I saw this exciting report from Restaurant Dive. It's a response to a press release from a Chicago-based taco joint named Cilantro Taco Grill. It says the company "Secures 110 Units Across Four States".

Cilantro Taco Grill was born in Illinois in 2013 and has 17 current locations, but this expansion will take them into Texas, Florida and California, too. The expansion will begin soon with openings as early as April.

If you're not familiar with Cilantro Taco Grill, they are what is known as a fast-casual Mexican food brand. They even have their own house salsa which is available in some Illinois stores.

This is a big development for an Illinois company that was named one of the hottest start-up companies in 2024.
