Things You Should Never Flush Down a Toilet in Hannibal, Missouri

I am confused which is a common emotion I feel. There are a number of things I've been advised to never flush down a toilet in Hannibal, Missouri and I have so many questions.

This is most certainly not my list. The Hannibal, Missouri Board of Public Works shared a helpful graphic this week on Facebook explaining there are many things that cause sewer problems if you flush them. Here are some highlights of the no-no list for flushing hobbies.

The top of their list is the most confusing item for me. When you're...taking care of business...this is the one item I don't want hanging around after the fact. Yet, it does cause sewer problems. Time to get one of those scent-resistant sealed trash cans.

I could see how this could be a problem and I also understand why many people think this is no big deal. All those cotton balls eventually could team up to be a blob big enough to chase Steve McQueen through a theater.

Trash can is fine for facial tissues. Toilet is not. Easy to remember.

If you thought #1 was confusing, #4 is even more so. Someone at the wipe company should stop putting "flushable" on the package if it's not. That's beyond frustrating.
