Illinois Truck Driver Swears He Just Saw 8 Foot Tall Creature
I don't know what this Illinois truck driver saw, but I'm convinced that he's sincere for multiple reasons. He swears that he just saw an 8 foot tall creature while transporting mail just outside of Pekin, Illinois near the Illinois River.
This is the newest report on the Bigfoot Field Research Organization website. It's a very recent encounter that happened on October 5, 2024. I'll share the driver's exact words in a moment, but first I'd like to explain why I'm convinced he is being honest about what he saw. First, he gave his real name which is Gary Rutherford. He also gave the exact coordinates where this encounter happened which is "40.550928, -89.810545".
Here's how Gary explained what he saw in his own words:
I'm a truck driver. I drive route 9 between Glasford and Canton six days a week. On October 5th at about 6 AM I was heading towards Canton. Walking towards the side of the road as if it was trying to cross the road, a very tall brown creature with a lot of fur. About 8 feet tall with very large yellow glowing eyes.
The Bigfoot Research Organization did a follow-up investigation and spoke at length with Gary and learned that the actual encounter was closer to 5:50am. They also said that Gary determined the height of whatever he saw by using his own truck as a reference:
"He says it must have stood roughly 8 feet tall because its head was at the same height as his own head as he sat in the cab of a big truck."
This part of Illinois has been a hotbed of Bigfoot creature reports over the years and the fact that it's surrounded by protected marshland would make it easy for a creature to survive hidden where very few people are.
What did Gary see that early October morning while he was running his route? I have no idea, but I respect that he's willing to put his name behind the sighting and provide minute details. It makes his observation all the more credible in my opinion.
