18 Drive-In Movie Theaters in Missouri & Illinois Opening in 2023

I am an unapologetic fan of drive-in movie theaters. I miss the days when they were a common part of our communities. But, I'm realistic and understand not many have survived. That being said, here are the Missouri and Illinois drive-in movie theaters that appear to have plans to open in 2023.

I've done my best to make sure this is an accurate list of drive-in movie theaters which actually will be showing movies this year. I've leaned hard on the Drive-In Movie website for information, but also did separate research through theater Facebook pages and websites to make sure they really will be open for business in 2023. Here are the survivors:

Missouri:

Sunset Drive-In - Aurora, Missouri (Their website mentions a "Happy 2023" and they have an active Facebook page)

Starlite Drive-In - Cadet, Missouri  (Their website mentions the 2023 season and they're active on Facebook, too)

66 Drive-In - Carthage, Missouri  (Their website says they will open for 2023 - Yay)

Rock N Roll Drive-In - Chafee, Missouri - (Their website confirms they will open for 2023 also - Facebook page is active, too)

Phenix Drive-In - Houston, Missouri (Their website appears current. Facebook page, too)

B & B Twin - Independence, Missouri (Website is vague, but Facebook page very active)

Barco Drive-In - Lamar, Missouri (Website is current - Facebook page updated recently)

B & B Moberly 5 and Drive-In (Website is gone, but Facebook page is active, fingers crossed)

Pinehill Drive-In - Piedmont, Missouri (Facebook page confirms they are opening Spring 2023)

21 Drive-In - Van Buren, Missouri (Facebook page confirms they are opening Spring 2023)

Illinois:

Skyview Drive-In - Belleville, Illinois (Website says they will open in 2023 - Facebook page active)

Route 34 Drive-In - Earlville, Illinois (Website outdated, but Facebook page says they'll be back in 2023)

Harvest Moon Drive-In - Gibson City, Illinois (Website says they'll open April 2023 - Facebook page active also)

Skyview Drive-In - Litchfield, Illinois (Website confirms they'll open April 2023 - Facebook page active)

McHenry Outdoor Theater - McHenry, Illinois (Website gone, but Facebook page active)

Drive 'N Theater - Newton, Illinois (Website updated - Facebook page active shows screen recently repaired)

Route 66 Drive-In - Springfield, Illinois (Website says they'll open April 2023 - Facebook page active)

Midway Drive-In - Sterling, Illinois (Website says they'll open April 2023 - Facebook page active)
