State Troopers will be joining with local police agencies to urge the public to celebrate St. Patrick's Day safely. Roadside Safety Checks, Alcohol Countermeasures Enforcement (A.C.E.) patrols, Seat Belt Enforcement Zones, speed details and other directed patrols will all be used to aggressively enforce "FATAL 4" violations of DUI/Alcohol violations, speeding, seat belt/child restraint and distracted driving.

More than 40% of Illinois traffic fatalities involve alcohol according to state police so remember a designated driver to "drive sober or get pulled over" this weekend and always.
