If you were a Facebook user between May 24, 2007, and December 22, 2022, you could be eligible to receive a settlement from Facebook. There is currently a $725 million lawsuit against Meta, Facebook's parent company, filed by users of Facebook accusing the social media giant of sharing their data with third parties. This multi-action lawsuit was filed back in 2018 and if the settlement is finalized those who submit a claim could get part of the settlement. After all legal attorneys are paid) from what's left which is estimated to be $544 million.

The proposed settlement would give 25% of the fund to the plaintiffs’ attorneys for legal fees, plus an unspecified amount for legal expenses. That will leave something less than $544 million to be split among those who file claims.

To have a chance at claiming any of this money you will have to file a claim and decide who you want to receive your payment. Whether it be through Venmo, a pre-paid credit card, or direct deposit in your checking/savings account. The best and safest way to collect any portion of the money would be through a pre-paid credit card so none of your personal information is shared.

I didn't do this the first time and I kicked myself for not submitting a claim. Several of my friends did submit and got a nice payment. You may not see a high payout but $10 is better than getting nothing.
