If you Live in Missouri You Should Cheer for the LA Clippers
The better that the Los Angeles Clippers do in the playoffs the better it is for the people of Northeast Missouri, let me explain!
The other night I was sitting on my couch watching the Los Angeles Clippers taking on the Phoenix Suns in the NBA's Western Conference Finals. This is the first time the Clippers have ever been to a conference finals, and the first time in over a decade for the Phoenix Suns. Naturally during the broadcast of these games there will be lulls in the action, when those moments happen the broadcasters usually give out some random facts of statements about a player or coach (90% of watching a baseball game on tv is this by the way because of how little action there is in baseball). Well I couldn't believe my ears when I heard what the announcers said about Los Angeles Clippers head coach Ty Lue the other night...
Ty Lue was born in Mexico, Missouri! It says it clear as day on his Wikipedia page, born in Mexico, Missouri and graduated from Raytown Senior High School in Raytown, Missouri which is near Kansas City.
This is one of those cool stories that can connect people of Northeast Missouri to what is going on in the NBA right now. I grew up in Chicago in the 1990's so it was easy for me to have a team to root for in the Chicago Bulls, but if you live in the Tri-State area there isn't a team in St. Louis, or Kansas City, or Des Moines, you'd have to choose between Chicago and I don't know maybe Memphis? So why not root for Ty Lue's Los Angeles Clippers! They are a historically bad franchise that has two great players now, and a very rich owner, being coached by a native of the Tri-State area!
