The Quincy YMCA wants you to start a new family tradition this holiday season. With the approval and guidance of the Adams County Health Department, the Quincy YMCA will be hosting the event which is now available to sign up for. The fun run/walk will take place on December 3rd at the Festival of Lights display in Moorman Park. Here's your chance to see the lights like you've never seen them before, on foot.

If you are wanting to participate in the event there are a few things you should know. You must pre-register and choose a time slots, this is to limit the number of runner/walkers at one time in the park. Plus, due to Covid-19 restrictions, spectators are not allowed at this event, and children in strollers are allowed, but have to be registered.

You will have to register to participate for the run at specific times. The first available start time is 5:30 pm and the last is 9:30 pm. All participants will be screened by SIU staff before allowed to participate, and required to wear a face covering. Social distancing will also be enforced throughout the event.

Just think how cool it would be to start a new family tradition and either walking or running through the Festival of Lights.  It will truly be a magical night for many families and you can top it all off with a nice hot cup for hot chocolate when your done with the event.
