The Hannibal City Council Tuesday night heard from Bleigh Construction, the contractor for the project.

The council approved an extension of the completion of the project to October 31st.

Bleigh officials blamed the Mississippi River for the delays, citing 2019’s historically long flood, along with flooding this spring resulting in the installation of the city’s flood gates.

The original completion date was last fall, then was reset for the end of June.
