Fun January Events to Look Forward to in the Quincy/Hannibal Area
We'll see the Harlem Globetrotters, the Y101 Bridal Expo, bald eagles and tons of chicken wings in January. Here's a look at fun upcoming events around the Quincy/Hannibal area.
Harlem Globetrotters
The world-famous Harlem Globetrotters are coming to Quincy! The Pepsi Arena will host the Globetrotters on Monday, January 4, 2016 at 7 p.m. The team is celebrating its 90th anniversary world tour in 2016. General admission tickets are $26.50, courtside tickets are $53.50, and bench tickets (includes one seat on the bench with the team, backstage meet & greet, replica jersey, program, Sharpie lanyard) are $196.50. Lady Windermere's Fan
Tickets go on sale January 4 for Quincy Community Theatre's upcoming musical Lady Windermere's Fan. Performances are January 15-16, Friday-Saturday at 7:30 and will be held in the Lab Theatre. Great River Eagle Days
The Standing Bear Council hosts the annual Great River Eagle Days January 23 to January 24. The eagle viewing will take place free of charge at Lock and Dam 21. The Oakley Lindsay Center hosts various indoor activities and displays. Complimentary scopes will also be available and rangers will be on hand to help view the birds. The Y101 Bridal Expo
Y101's Bridal Expo is the largest bridal expo within a 100 mile radius. The Quincy area’s premier bridal expo is returning to The Ambiance on Saturday, January 30 for its 18th year! Hours are noon to 3 p.m. Admission is free.
Wing Ding
Saturday, January 30 is the date for the annual Hannibal Jaycees' Wing Ding at the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center. The doors open at 11 a.m. Games and serving starts at 1 p.m. 1,000 will go to the team with the best wings. The Jaycees will provide the wings, fryers and oil, while teams provide the sauce or batter. All cooking must be done on-site. The team entry fee is $75 until December 31. After January 1, the entry fee is $100.
