Fruitcake [Poll]

When I saw the Canton Elementary School put on their Christmas Show last week, one of their numbers was entitled "The Everlasting Fruitcake". It got me to thinking: I haven't had fruitcake in years.

Is it still a tradition to send one to neighbors or relatives in an obligitary fashion, only to have the receipient sheepishly say "thanks", then procede to imagine various uses for the baked delicacy in their hand other than eating it: doorstop, paperweight, tire chock, lonely kids see-saw partner, end table, etc.

I happen to enjoy fruitcake, but you have to enjoy it the right way - warmed slightly, a generous pat of butter, and a good cup of coffee.
