The 4th annual Fishing for Freedom event will be held on June 6, 7 and 8 on the Mississippi River in Quincy.

Friday, June 6 will feature an evening fish fry and trap shooting at the West Quincy Gun Club. Saturday is pre-fishing day with registration beginning at 2pm at Clat Adams Park, and then the Hero's Banquet at The Oakley-Lindsey Center. Doors open to the public at 4:30pm and dinner is being provided by Tony's II. There will be a $10 cost for dinner either in advance or at the door.  Sunday is the tournament with weigh in at Clat Adams Park beginning at noon. The awards ceremony to follow will be held at the Oakley-Lindsey Center.

Volunteers boaters are needed, according to organizer Lucia Geise. This years event will also feature two divisions, bass and catfish.

According to their website, 'The Fishing For Freedom  event is a way for us to honor our Wounded Warriors and Global War on Terrorism Veterans and to show them our thanks and appreciation.'
