We are getting more and more data coming out from things like the 2020 Census, and I am someone who loves looking through numbers, and national rankings, and so on, discovered that Missourians are making a considerably less money compared to their fellow Americans.

According to the website in the ranking of Median Individual Incomes by states Missouri is in the bottom half of the United States. Missouri ranks 38th in Median Individual Income out of the 50 states and Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico (weirdly enough DC is number 1 on the list, and Puerto Rico is last on the list essentially canceling themselves out).

The Median Individual Income in Missouri is $29,649 compared to the state with the highest Median Individual Income Maryland with $40,341. Now Missouri ranks pretty far behind the fellow Tri-State states as well with Iowa being ranked 22nd on the list with $31,707, and Illinois ranking at 16th with a total of $32,495.

Now this list is based purely on how much an Individual on average makes, it certainly doesn't mean Missouri is a BAD place to live. It doesn't factor in cost of living with taxes, gas, property values, weather, and all these other factors that matter to whether or not a place is a good place to live. BUT it is quite shocking that the Show Me State certainly has some improving to do as far as getting more money into their citizens pockets.
