Design and Construction Firms Selected for Vets Home Work
Design and construction firms have been selected for the renovation of existing buildings and construction of new facilities at the Illinois Veterans’ Home.
The Illinois Capital Development Board and the Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs announced Tuesday the selection of Veterans United Constructors, a joint venture between Alberici Constructors and River City Construction LLC, as the preferred architectural and construction firms for the facility at the Illinois Veterans’ Home in Quincy.
The project includes building upgrades, infrastructure, utilities and landscaping to support the new facilities and campus, including a new 250,000 square foot residential long-term care building and a 65,000 square foot independent living building.
The $230 million dollar cost of the project is being funded by the Rebuild Illinois capital plan.
