Yuletide Screams in Christmas Haunted House in Missouri
Here’s something you don’t see every day….A Christmas themed haunted house in Sullivan, Missouri.
It’s called “Terror on Route 66”. A haunted house for all seasons just off I-44 and the parallel route 66.
Think there isn’t a market for this? How many Christmas horror movies are there? Lots. “Black Christmas”, “Silent Night, Deadly Night”, “Rare Exports – A Christmas Tale” and “Violent Night” just to rattle off a few. Jack Skellington would approve.
So, with Christmas upon us Terror on Route 66 has unveiled a Christmas version of their huge haunted house that leans into Krampus, re-imagining him as a hire toymaker whose creations are bizarre and cause havoc, burning down the toy shop. Krampus flees to the surrounding wooded area and plans a rebuild of the shop calling it Santa’s Slaughterhouse.
The owners have been surprised at the public response to an opportunity to get pics with Santa. The public apparently would like an option for a twisted angle of the Christmas tradition. Instead of Holly Jolly Santa…they have asked for Horror Santa at the haunted house. In context of the venue, it kinda makes sense. Stick with your brand.
Their “Yuletide Fright” event is this weekend.
