Can you name the top 10 most populated cities in Illinois?
Obviously, the list starts with Chicago but after that, it can get tricky, do you think you can name the top 10 most populated cities in the Land of Lincoln?
I'm one of those people that loves numbers, rankings, and stats, as a kid I would spend hours looking at lists about the Tallest buildings in each country, how much money certain movies made at the box office, and population numbers have always fascinated me. So I was pretty disappointed in myself when I tried to guess the 10 most populated cities in the state of Illinois and could only guess 6 of the top 10, maybe you can do better!

According to worldpopulationreview.com, the top ten most populated cities in Illinois are as follows...
1. Chicago - 2.67 million
2. Aurora - 193,431
3. Naperville - 149,526
4. Joliet - 146,186
5. Rockford 143,515
6. Springfield - 112,400
7. Elgin - 108,926
8. Peoria - 107,321
9. Champaign - 91,654
10. Waukegan - 84,260
So how did you do? I would have never guessed Waukegan and Elgin, I grew up near those two cities and have driven through them a ton and they are just in the mix of so many other suburbs that it is hard to tell when they start and where they end.
Honestly, the craziest part about this list of top 10 is the drop-off from 1 to 2, is there a bigger difference in the United States in 1 to 2 than Chicago to Aurora, with a difference in 2.4 million people basically?!?
So where does Quincy, IL fall on the list of most populated cities in the land of Lincoln, well if you keep scrolling down you will find it ranked as the 40th most populated city in Illinois.
