As nice and fun as it is to decorate your car with lights this season, in Missouri it's illegal to do so. Ultra Light Buzz says,

No. These decorative lights typically violate vehicle lighting laws that restrict colors and types of lights permitted on vehicles.

There are a few exceptions. If your vehicle is in a parade or parked and on display by all means you are good to go with decorating your car with lights. If the car is moving (besides a parade) then no lights can be on.

It's common sense Why

They are distracting. Especially if the car is Clark Griswold decorated. Every part of the car was covered with lights.

I would love to decorate my car, although my girls would be super embarrassed riding in it (silly teenagers). there are ways to decorate your car without having lights on it, There are magnetic lights you can use that don't light up or other fun ways to get in the Christmas spirit without getting in trouble with the law.
