Bob Kingsley’s Country Top 40 Is Moving
But not far.
Bob Kingsley has been counting down the Top 40 hits in country music for over 40 years, several of them Saturday mornings right here on KICK-FM, with an encore on Sunday evenings (depending on Chiefs games). But we were running into a problem with the late morning hours on Saturdays. It was conflicting with special events and remote broadcasts. We were having to cut those short, and break-up the flow of the countdown, delaying when you'd find out who had the #1 song, sometimes by upwards of 20 minutes!
To alleviate the problem, we've moved Bob Kingsley up by two hours. The Country Top 40 countdown will now start at 6:00am on Saturday mornings. You'll still hear all 40 hits. You'll still hear the great interviews, the dedications, the favorite songs. Just two hours earlier. And the Sunday encore will still air as normal.
We just want to streamline both the countdown and our special events, to make sure both are brought to you with as little interruption as possible.
We thank you for listening, and we'll see you and Bob at 6am Saturday morning. For more about Bob Kingsley and the Country Top 40 Countdown, check out his website.
