Some really great country music concerts this summer will be within driving distance of our area, in Springfield, Illinois. The Illinois State Fair is always a good place to find some of country music's biggest stars, but there are also some country shows scheduled outside of the fair and at some of the surrounding county fairs. Here are some of the acts you'll be able to see in and around Springfield this year.

Sagamon County Fair

Little Big Town, Trace Adkins and Jake Owen are appearing at the Sagamon County Fair in New Berlin, IL. Little Big Town performs on Thursday, June 20, Trace Adkins on Friday, June 21, and Jake Owen on Saturday, June 22.

Josh Thompson at Boondocks

On June 22, Josh Thompson will be at Boondocks in Springfield. Boondocks is at 2909 N. Dirkesen, Springfield, Illinois 62702.

Morgan County Fair

Joe Nichols is the Friday night headliner at the Morgan County Fair in Jacksonville on July 12, and Josh Turner will be the July 13 entertainment. Black Jack Billy will open for Joe Nichols, and Iron Horse will open for Josh Turner. Tickets for both shows are available online.

Illinois State Fair

The country lineup for the 2013 Illinois State Fair is impressive.The fair will officially run from August 8 - 18.

Billy Currington and Lauren Alaina will play on Friday, August 9. Ticket prices range from $15 - $35.

The Band Perry and Randy Houser will be at the fair on Tuesday, August 13. Tickets are available from $25 up to $45.

Toby Keith and Kip Moore take the stage on Wednesday, August 14. Ticket prices are from $40 - $65.

Gary Allan and Thompson Square will be the last country acts to perform at the 2013 Illinois State Fair, on Friday, August 16. The Farm, Frankie Ballard and Brushfire will also be there. The concert starts at 4:30. Ticket prices are from $15 - $35.
