Inside Missouri’s 100-Year-Old Candy Shop Still Thriving
Where do you go to satisfy your sweet tooth in Missouri? There are so many great candy shops, but my favorite is Chocolaterie Stam in Hannibal. The next time you travel to St. Louis, you might want to check out a candy shop that’s been around for over 100 years.
The food experts at Foodie Haven claim they’ve found the best place in Missouri to get your sweet tooth fix: Crown Candy Kitchen in St. Louis. It’s been open since 1913 and still uses its original soda fountain today.

This famous candy shop is known for its malted milkshakes, chocolate-covered strawberries, and hand-dipped chocolates. I loved going to Barrel & Bins when it was open in the Quincy Mall. You could get ten pieces of candy for a dollar, and with all the bins lining the walls, it felt like stepping into candy heaven.

It’s not just the candy and soda that make Crown Candy Kitchen one of the best—it’s also the vintage fixtures that make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time to the early 1900s. So the next time you’re in the St. Louis area and craving a sweet treat, stop by Crown Candy Kitchen.
