When I travel with my family, we always try to eat local and get a feel for the city or town we're visiting. But apparently, when we visit Chicago, there's only one place we should go for the city's famous deep-dish pizza.

Cult Favorite for Deep Dish Pizza in Illinois

There’s Giordano’s, Gino’s East, and The Art of Pizza, but none of them come close to what many Illinoisans call the cult favorite for deep-dish pizza:

Lou Malnati’s.

According to Love Food, Lou Malnati’s is renowned for its deep-dish pizza. The restaurant has been family-owned since 1971 and is known for its flaky, buttery crust and signature cheese pulls. If you’re a true pizza connoisseur, you either already know about this place, or it’s a must-visit on your next trip to Chicago.

Try Them All

I feel like pizza is one of those foods you really can’t go wrong with, no matter where you try it. It all comes down to the sauce, the crust, and which restaurant you prefer. In fact, if you’re trying to figure out who has the best deep-dish pizza, the best solution might be to do a full-on pizza food tour, and let your taste buds decide.
