According to the travel website travelandleisure.com, St. Louis is one of the 14 Winter Vacation Ideas in the US. St. Louis makes the list with places like Jackson Hole (Wyoming), Louisville (Kentucky), Burlington (Vermont), and Key West (Florida). What about St. Louis makes it a winter vacation destination? On the site they say...

"Daytime temperatures are usually in the 40s during winter months, but when it feels too cold to be outside, there's lots to do indoors. The palatial St. Louis Art Museum, founded in 1879 and moved to its current home during the 1904 World's Fair, is one of the country's premier museums. Visitors can ride a tram to the top of the Gateway Arch, the tallest manmade monument in the United States at 630 feet, for a spectacular view of the city."

I think St. Louis is a great idea for a winter vacation. They are right about the temperatures, they are much more tolerable than the northern big cities like Chicago, and New York. Plus, St. Louis has a ton to offer beyond the Museum and the Arch, there is the NHL with the Blues, Union Station, and of course the ice skating downtown. Do you think St. Louis belongs on this list?
