A traffic stop on I-72 Thursday evening in Pike County Illinois results in two drug arrests.

Illinois State Police say they pulled over a rented car at Mile Marker 26 around 10:45 p-m for a traffic violation. Troopers say they observed indicators of criminal activity. A search of the car yielded over 13 pounds of suspected marijuana and 17-hundred dollars in cash. Illinois State Police say the driver—37 year old Anthony Hackey and passenger—55 year old Myron Maye—both of Los Angeles were arrested and taken to the Pike County Jail at Pittsfield on drug related charges. West Central Illinois Task Force agents and Pike County Sheriff’s deputies assisted with the investigation.
