It's been dubbed Victorian Futurism, and has been the thematic motif of many classic novels and films, from Jules Verne's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea to the Phillip Reed novel and soon-to-be released movie Mortal Engines. Steampunk. And Steampunk is set to return to Hannibal coming up on Labor Day Weekend.

From Friday, August 31st through Monday, September 3rd, you can stroll the streets of Downtown Hannibal at the free Big River Steampunk Festival. You can check out all the great vendors peddling their wares throughout up and down the street, or partake in the numerous free events, including, parades performances, duels and contests.

While most access to the festival is free, there are some additional Premium Events that have additional ticket prices, including a murder mystery show, seances, dinners, balls and burlesque shows. There will even be a night time riverboat cruise.
