Born and raised in Hannibal, Missouri...I stopped maturing at age 12 and I have the radio show to prove it. Authorities found me at age 19 in a corner talking to myself...so they decided to give me a pair of headphones, a microphone and a brand new room (with padded walls) for me to talk to myself in...and they called it radio...and that brings us to today. I have been torturing (I mean "entertaining") listeners for 29 years and have been fortunate to win many Missouri Broadcaster awards along the way...which just proves how much everyone else sucks. Truth is I have the best radio listeners in the world who treat me better than any human being could possibly deserve. And that special relationship we have will continue...at least until K-Mart starts hiring again.

4th Annual Local Area Musicians Charity Concert Set For January 25
They've been doing this for four years now (that's where the "4th Annual" part comes in) and this year's event looks to be the best yet. It's the 4th Annual Local Area Musicians Charity Concert and it's set for Friday, January 25th. This is an event that benefits the local Leaps Of Love organization. Last year's show raised over $4000 and they'd love to beat that this year.
Trends I’d Like To See End In 2013: Facebook Bathroom Pics
I'm a pretty tolerant person. Some of my better friends are Cub fans. A few of them are even democrats. I've lived through Detroit Red Wing Stanley Cup Championships (*shudder*). But, one trend I would LOVE to see end this year is people taking pictures of themselves in the bathroom and posting them on Facebook.

Now It’s January And….ZZZZZZZ
Brace yourself, cause it's now January. I'll give you a second to try and calm down all your excitement. Settled down yet? I'm not gonna say that January is the most boring month. Let's be positive. It's the twelfth most exciting month of the year.
Well Done, Cathy Smith, Well Done
If you ever watched the TV show 'WKRP in Cincinnati,' then you know all you need to know about radio salespeople. The stereotypical Herb Tarlek type of salesperson that wears a big white belt and would sell absolutely anything no matter how awful it sounds on the radio. Cathy Smith has been a sales person here at KICK-FM...well, pretty much forever. But, she's is no Herb Tarlek. (And I mean that a
Thank You For A Great 2012
It's hard to believe we're at the end of another year. One more day and we'll have to start writing a brand new date on our checks. And, most importantly of all, it's time to say thank you...to you for another great year.

Christmas Doesn’t Mean Anything To Me Anymore
I know that many will misunderstand this, but I have to admit that Christmas doesn't mean anything (positive) to me anymore. Go ahead and throw the Scrooge accusations my way. I probably deserve them. But the holiday that used to be my all-time favorite is now the time of year I dread the most. I've done some soul searching and asked myself "what's changed?".
It’s Hard To Do A Radio Show When You Have No Voice
Good thing for me that there aren't a lot of requirements to have a radio show. If you have less than seven felony convictions and have the skills to unlock a door every morning, then you are qualified to have a morning radio show. Oh, and you have to have a voice. Thanks to a seasonal cold/sinus thing, I haven't had one of those for a few days. Dang the luck.
One Week Later – Heroes Remembered, Killer Forgotten
It doesn't feel like it's been a week yet. Seven days since we learned of the murderous rampage committed against precious children in Newtown, Connecticut. I didn't want to know the name of the killer then and I won't remember him now. But, I am actively working to remember the names and stories of the teachers and students. Here are a couple that have inspired me personally.
