Meals on Wheels is holding a Cook’s Night Off event on the third Thursday of the month throughout 2018. It’s a fundraiser for the Meals on Wheels program as they offer eat-in, carry-out, or drive thru meals for just $7 each. All meals include either Fried Chicken or Roast Beef, two side dishes, bread and dessert. The hours for each 3rd Thursday of each month are 4 to 6pm at the Senior Center at 639 York Street.

A Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction fundraiser for 4 year old Chamar Mays will be held at the LaGrange Lions Club on Saturday, May 19th from 4:30 to 7:30 pm. This free-will offering event is intended to help his family with the medical expenses associated with his treatment to fight his brain tumor.

The 6th Annual Smile-A-Mile Buddy Walk will be held in Hannibal on Saturday, May 19 at Central Park. The walk is around Central Park and is held to bring awareness to Down Syndrome. There will be food, fun and entertainment as well. All proceeds will go toward the Abilities’ outdoor equipment fund.

The 2018 EMS Day at the Quincy Mall will be held on May 20 from noon to 4 pm and will showcase local Emergency Responders as well as their equipment. Live demonstrations will include Hands Only CPR, Local Ambulance Services, Quincy Police Department, Police K-9 Demonstrations, Quincy Fire Department, Tri-Township Fire Department, medical helicopter landing (weather permitting), and many more. Free Soda and pizza will be provided while supplies last.

Two of the Districts businesses will join together at the Wooden Rabbit at 515 Maine in Quincy to fashion a beautiful event where whiskey and chocolate combine to create an explosion of complimentary flavors. Five whiskeys and eight chocolates will be featured. This event is a fundraiser for Western Illinois Dream Factory will take place from 7 to 8:30pm. This special not-for-profit organization "grants dreams to critically and chronically ill (Quincy) children from ages three to eighteen". Only 14 individual tickets ($50ea) will be sold, 6 tables for groups of 4 ($200) and one VIP group of 8 ($500). Contact The Yum Factory to reserve your spot now!

A Painting Party & Social will be held to benefit the College for Life Program at JWCC on Friday, June 1st from 6 to 8 at the Town & Country Inn & Suites on North 54th Street. The event will feature the opportunity to paint a personalized canvas with instructor Cheryle Shutte from the Paint Pad. There will be appetizers and a cash bar for non- painters available as well. 2018 Mexico Young Farmers 13th Annual Truck & Tractor Pull will be held at the Audrain County 4-H Fairgrounds in Mexico, Missouri on Saturday, June 9th. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the pull begins at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $20.00; Children 12 and under get in free. A fundraiser for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital will be held at Spirit Knob Winery in Ursa, Illinois on Friday, June 15 from 6 to 11 pm. The event is hosted by Beta Zeta/Epsilon Sigma Alpha and will feature live music by "Raised on Radio'. There will also be food for sale by the QND Booster Club, a 50/50 Raffle and door prizes. A $10 cover charge per person will be charged at the door and only $8 if purchased prior to the event from a Beta Zeta Member or call 217-316-0414. The 2018 Hannibal Cannibal Walk Run during National Tom Sawyer Days will be held on Saturday, July 7th. The Run features 15K, 10K, 5K and fun runners at 7am. The leisure walk will be held at 7:05 that morning. The cost is $25 per person by 6-18, $30 between 6-19 and 7-4 and $35 from 7-5 thru 7-7.
