Do you have the voice of an angel? Or... maybe not an angel, but you've been told "Hey, you're pretty good at making musical noises with your mouth." Why anyone would phrase it like that, I don't know. That's a weird thing to say. At least with those particular words. That person's probably a serial killer, and you should stay away from them.

But if you're a good singer, you could open up for Brett Eldredge at this year's Illinois State Fair, at least with a few songs. Here's the deal. Throughout the summer, the State Fair will be hosting a karaoke contest at various county fairs. The top two contestants at each county fair will go on to compete in a showcase at the state fair on Friday, August 17th, with the winner performing a few songs ahead of the Brett Eldredge concert on the Grandstand that night.

They kick things off on June 9th at the Macon County Fair in Decatur, but close to us, they will be hitting the Morgan County Fair in Jacksonville on July 12th and the Adams County Fair on Friday July 28th. It's free to enter, but sign-up ASAP as space is limited. To register for the competition, check out the Illinois State Fair website.

Eldredge's concert is that night, August 17th, with Luke Combs and Ashley McBryde on Tuesday the 14th and Brantley Gilbert on Sunday the 19th.
