Wednesday in Quincy was tricky for traffic and commuters trying to get around, as snow moved into the area fast with freezing temperatures. The roads were and are still quite nasty from this weekend and todays weather didn't help any. BUT the weather made for a very special scene along the riverfront here in Quincy, check out this video I shot of the frozen Mississippi river with a blanket of snow covering it, almost making it look like a field.

I shot this video around 1:30pm along the riverfront in Quincy, the roads were terrible, and the wind was howling. According to my Iphone when I was out there filming this video, standing in 8 inches of snow, it was 12 degrees with a feels like temperature of -2 degrees. I wanted to take more video and more photos but it was wayyyy to cold to be out along the riverfront any longer.

It is so crazy to see that massive river look like a field of snow, I have only lived in Quincy for 2 years and this is the first time I can remember seeing the river like this. It reminds me of my time living in Chicago and being downtown and seeing the Chicago river completely frozen over.
