Singers of unknown identity are all the rage on TV these days. If you enjoy that, there's an event similar coming to Quincy in April that will benefit the homeless in both Hannibal and Quincy.

A new season of The Masked Singer debuts on Fox tonight. That show has inspired a local event not associated with The Masked Singer, but certainly inspired by it. Unmasking the Singer 2022 is being presented by The Salvation Army Quincy/Hannibal on Friday, April 29 at The Atrium on 3rd.

Director of Development Matt Schmidt and Donor Relations Coordinator Chad Douglas will be the emcees for the night. The "masked" singers will take the stage at 7p with one clue read before they perform about what their identity might be.

What the Salvation Army is hoping for is "a fun-filled night of raising money for The Salvation Army so it can continue to provide shelter to the homeless in Quincy and Hannibal" as their website states.

The United States Interagency Council on Homelessness shows the struggle of families in need of shelter is sadly exploding in both Illinois and Missouri. This is a DAILY challenge for some tri-state area families who are assisted by The Salvation Army who otherwise would not have a roof over their heads.

If you'd like more information or to reserve a seat for Unmasking the Singer 2022, you can contact Chad Douglas and/or get updates through the official website.
