I've never seen this before and I'm not sure it's a good idea even if you get the chance. However, there's a new video showing a guy practically handfeeding a bald eagle hardboiled eggs.

I've done some digging and can't figure out exactly where this happened and there's probably a reason for that. The video doesn't say probably because the person doesn't want to be contacted by fish and wildlife wherever he is. I will confess this is a compelling moment though. He more or less calls down the eagle to get its attention to the hardboiled eggs he's offering.

Why not share your location to gain fame for feeding a bald eagle? As Wikipedia says, it's illegal under the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act. It's a federal violation that can potentially come with jail time if the law catches up with you. The area of feeding eagles is a little gray as the act has more to do with possessing or hunting eagles, but it is covered in some way, shape or form.

I guess this makes me a hypocrite for being fascinated with the moment. We have eagles that travel by our house all the time as they make their way down the river. We'd never dream of interfering with them in a million years and we never see one as close up as this guy did.

Let this be a teachable moment in case you think you'd like to go outside with your egg collection.
