There’s No Dogwood Carnival This Year and We’re A Little Bummed
Well this is too bad.
Looks like Quincy’s annual Dogwood Festival will be without its signature carnival rides in 2018. WGEM reports that the paperwork required to secure the downtown space was not filed in time and as a result, the downtown streets will not be closed. Thus, no carnival rides.
Yeah, a little sad. But not the end of the world. Dogwood Weekend is still packed with fun events for families highlighted by a parade on Saturday morning and live music and other activities through to Sunday.
So don’t let this keep you inside. We’ll be at the parade, and I’m sure quite a few of the other events as well, so come say hi! In any case, let’s keep our fingers crossed that the carnival makes a return for 2019.
