I realize that destinations are a very subjective thing. But, I have found what I believe is the best day trip you can possibly take from Missouri and I'll try to prove it with science.

I was pleasantly surprised to see my birth town of Hannibal named the most affordable summer vacation in all of Missouri by the internet experts. Let's find out why they believe that's the case.

It's easy to find great vacation locations if you have a lot of money. What if you don't? The good news is one of the cheapest vacations in America that's still fun is in Missouri. The options there are plentiful and most won't cost you an arm and a leg.

If you're looking for a place to stay, you want to hear the word "hospitable". If that's high on your list, there's a place near Wright City that was just named the most hospitable in all of Missouri.

I'm gonna file this one under "tell us something we don't know", but it's still cool that Hannibal was called out as being one of the top 11 summer vacation spots by a national site.

There's a lot to love about this Missouri home. Inside it's immaculate and it's close to the Katy Trail which is one of the best bike trains in America. But, the big secret is what's hiding in the backyard - maybe one of the best pools in Missouri.

I don't know about you, but when I try to get away from it all, I really do try to get away from everything. That's kind of the idea. If you agree, there's a cabin I've found hidden in the middle of the woods in central Illinois that looks like a good option.

I have to admit that I didn't know Missouri had an alpine lake, but it's true. It's also accurate to say that alpine lake is just west of St. Louis and it's possible to live in the trees next to it.
