Hannibal High School

Hannibal High School, along with the Missouri School-College Relations Commission, will be sponsoring a College and Career Night on Thursday, September 26. The event will be held in the Hannibal High School Cafeteria from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and is open to all students and parents but it is specifically designed for Juniors and Seniors.

(Hannibal)— Superintendent Jill Janes says although Hannibal High School was not in session today, an important event will take place as scheduled tonight at Porter Stadium…Graduation.

Hannibal High School Art Department students participated in the 'Young Masters' exhibit held at the Hannibal Arts Council.  'Young Masters' featured selected works by Hannibal High School students as well as 5th grade and 8th grade students from Hannibal’s public and parochial schools.

The annual Hannibal Pirate Family Foundation Dinner & Auction will be April 13, 2013 at Hannibal High School. This fundraiser has grown into one of the major events in our community, but many may still be unaware of exactly what the Hannibal Pirate Family Foundation is. Its FAFSA time again for parents and students contemplating furthering their education. FAFSA stands for Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

(Hannibal)—Hannibal Police have not released details regarding a manhunt in the Palmyra Road area this afternoon that resulted in the lockdown of Hannibal Middle and High Schools.

So I put on the TV last night to watch the Discover Orange Bowl in Florida on ESPN. It was Northern Illinois taking on Florida State. Normally I wouldn't have that much of an interest in watching the game except for the fact that Mathew Sims from Hannibal was playing in the game for the Huskies of Northern Illinois.

I realize this may not be the most sportsmanlike statement I can make, but I'm not going to lie. I hope the Hannibal Pirates absolutely destroy (in football terms) the Jeff City Helias football team in the playoff game tonight. Yes, this is tied to a personal vendetta that I have that dates all the way back to high school.

Tuesday, October 9th will be a fun day in Hannibal if you like marching bands. It's the 64th Annual Mark Twain Marching Band Festival where high school bands from all around our region take over Broadway for a couple hours starting around 3pm. That's when the parade itself will begin followed by performances at Hannibal High School's Porter Stadium starting at 6pm.
